Mugwort, Sage, Skullcap, Passionflower, Blue Vervain & Psilocybin

Inner Descent Blend is a limited edition blend inspired by shadow work, introspection & the process of exploring what exists beneath the surface of our conscious awareness.

This blend is not about endlessly searching ourselves for something that needs to be fixed. Inner descent requires enough grounding, self-compassion & discernment to explore difficult emotions, unconscious patterns, memories & shadow material without mistaking what we discover for the entirety of who we are. We enter the darkness to gather information... not to build a home there.

Mugwort: Intuition • Dreams • Discernment

Mugwort has a long history within traditional herbalism, folklore & spiritual practices & has developed particularly strong associations with dreams, intuition, divination & altered states of consciousness. Mugwort represents intuition... the willingness to explore dreams, emotions, memories, symbols & impressions that may arise beneath ordinary analytical thought. What emerges can deserve our curiosity without requiring us to interpret everything literally. Intuition allows us to listen inward while leaving room for reflection & discernment.

Sage: Discernment • Cleansing • Clarity

Sage has a long history of culinary, medicinal & ceremonial use & has developed rich associations with wisdom, purification, protection & clarity. Sage represents discernment... the ability to explore difficult inner material without believing everything we encounter defines us. A fear is not always a warning. A thought is not automatically a truth. A pattern may explain something without excusing it. Discernment allows us to gather information from the darkness without constructing our identity around everything we find there.

Skullcap: Regulation • Unwinding • Restoration

Skullcap has a long history within North American herbalism & is traditionally categorized as a nervine, with associations surrounding nervous tension, restlessness & relaxation. Skullcap represents regulation... the internal steadiness we need when exploring difficult emotions & deeper layers of ourselves. Inner work does not become more valuable because we suffer through it. Regulation allows us to recognize when we can remain present, when we are becoming overwhelmed & when it may be time to return to the surface.

Passionflower: Surrender • Trust • Peace

Passionflower has a history of traditional use surrounding nervousness & rest, while its extraordinary flower also carries centuries of Christian religious symbolism. Passionflower represents surrender... loosening our need to control what appears or force our inner exploration toward a predetermined answer. Surrender is not helplessness. We can allow something to unfold while maintaining our boundaries, recognizing our capacity & choosing when we have explored enough for now.

Blue Vervain: Unburdening • Release • Enoughness

Blue Vervain has a long history within North American herbalism & became particularly associated with nervous tension, restlessness & the traditional herbal archetype of someone who continues pushing themselves beyond exhaustion. Blue Vervain represents unburdening... recognizing what we have been carrying beneath the surface & questioning whether all of it still belongs to us. Introspection can become another form of self-punishment when we believe we must endlessly analyze, fix or excavate ourselves before we are allowed to feel whole. Sometimes what we uncover does not need to be solved... it needs to be put down.

Psilocybin: Transformation • Introspection • Mystery

Psilocybin brings the energy of transformation to Inner Descent, representing the process of turning toward the deeper layers of ourselves with curiosity, courage & intention. The blend’s focus on intuition, discernment, regulation, surrender & unburdening supports the exploration of emotions, memories, patterns, beliefs & shadow material without believing we must become consumed by everything we uncover. Psilocybin can act as a mirror, bringing forward parts of ourselves we may have avoided, misunderstood or simply never noticed before. Inner Descent represents the practice of exploring what is revealed while maintaining enough perspective to remember that the shadow is information—not our entire identity.

Together, they represent the foundation of Inner Descent:

Intuition without assumption.
Discernment without self-judgment.
Regulation without suppression.
Surrender without helplessness.
Unburdening without avoidance.
Transformation without self-punishment.

The darkness is a place to gather information, not a place we have to build a home.

We descend not to discover everything that is wrong with us... but to understand ourselves deeply enough to decide what deserves to return to the surface with us.
